In s2sMagazine, A woman by the name of Anne Cooke has started a petition in hopes of canceling this show. Anne believes that the show only encourages the stereotypes that are associated with "Christians".
Anne says, "It is disgusting, disgraceful, inappropriate and an inaccurate display of what we strive to accomplish as Christians,". "The airing of this show only adds more fuel to the ever-present distasteful stereotype the we, as Christians, fight daily to erase" (Cooke (web) p.3). As I look at the reviews, I see that Anne is not the only one that feels this way.
Looking at this show only proves that everything does not belong on TV. Even though these are human beings just like you and me, their titles hold a position that the media would only taint. Many of the christian viewers would ignore some of the things that go on, but none believers would be turned off by some of the antics. I feel they wanted to make it like a christian version of the "Real Housewives" series. I do not think this show really portrays the real struggle of First ladies in the church. To see for yourself, it airs Tuesday @ 8/7c on TLC!!

the dominican woman is soo pretty! I love this show, but it shows how the real pastors are and their wives are.
ReplyDeleteI think that tv + the church = a no go. My opinion. Great post!
ReplyDeleteReality television is going straight to pots!!! Nothing good is displayed on TV anymore. What happened to the great family sitcoms that uplifted our spirits and inspired us to achieve our goals, instead of degrading each other?
